RisingStack is always trying to help newcomers to get started with Node.js - in this post I want to give you an overview of what we are doing.

For kids

We work together with the Technológiai Oktatásért Alapítvány on its KódGarázs project. What is KódGarázs? A 10-week-long coding program where 10-16 year-old girls and boys can learn the skills real developers use every day. We design its curriculum focuses on the same modern languages, frameworks and tools used at companies like RisingStack. We will also lead the classes and get students learn to program and build applications with JavaScript.

For university students

For university students we are holding event series dealing with full stack JavaScript. These series usually consist of 6-10 events and starts from the very basics till deploying a running Node.js application to a PaaS provider.

These kinds of events are held at universities/dormitories with a limit of 15 people each time. We decided to go with this limit to be able to do hands-on coding as well, not just theory.

Our goal with this series is to show students that not just Java/C++/PHP exists out there but JavaScript as well.

If you are interested in joining this program, ping us!

Attending these events are free of charge.

For professionals

For the more experienced ones we are doing NodeSchool events.

Choose-your-own-adventure style lessons and learn how to use node.js, npm and other related tools by writing code to solve realistic problems.

These events are usually held after work or on the weekends. The point here is to have at least a mentor for every 5 people, so they can help those who get stuck.
